The Poetry Takeaway have shared this challenge with us for the National Day of Arts in Care Homes.
Please can you complete this poem on the theme of ‘The Art of Ageing’. Complete the poem by adding your own verses and send to us by the end of November. Our favourites will be shared in NAPA publications and win prizes, including an Arts in Care voucher.
During lockdown, The Poetry Takeaway has been be working with three Sunrise Senior Living and Gracewell care homes, providing online training and their unique ‘takeaway’ service for ten nominated residents and staff from one home, including a resident celebrating her 100 birthday. Participants chose their own preferred ingredients in the form of details and memories about a person or place. The Poetry Takeaway poets will deliver the poems in the form of videos and wrapped takeaway poems will be sent by post.
