Prior to COVID-19, The Together Project ran Songs & Smiles, a music group for 0-4 year olds, their grown-ups and older people, held in care homes and sheltered housing schemes. These events reduced loneliness, improved wellbeing, tackled ageism and helped integrate local communities. Find out more about The Together Project

Due to COVID-19, safety measures were put in place which meant that The Together Project were unable to foster the usual intergenerational relationships. We know what a tough time care settings have all been through, and wanted to shine a light on the amazing work you do!

So, we launched ‘Hand in Hand Together’, a fun and creative activity that people of all ages can take part in. Little ones and older people in care homes, are creating handprint pictures to send to each other, giving people the valuable chance to interact with other generations.
